Nūr Asiya Siân

is a returning Mixed Media/Outsider Artist.

My work is about Identity and Intersectionality. It utilises conventional and contemporary means of exploring and defining hybrid identities, and then transcends them. Situated in a space that is both place and placeless-ness, I am curious about the patterns we inhabit that determine how we express our belongings and exiles.

I found my refuge in Faith. I found my answers in Faith, and I accepted the peripheral strangeness (gharib) that is really a Centre.

Somewhere between silence and speech sits Art. When language is too small and silence is too big, Drawing and Installation became my communication. I remembered this home and in recent years, after decades of motherhood which had distanced me from a regular creative practise, I revisited it.
